I am very pleased to read your take on FS in this episode.
I think it’s important for Catholic apologists, which at this moment I’m happy I’m not, to understand and articulate what some of the problems with FS are in a way that is respectful to the Pope and balanced. I mean that’s the least that is called for. Thankfully some are rising to this occasion. You do this. And your putting your discussion of FS into a wider framework of the unity of life was VERY helpful. Great move.
Bishops are also part of the magisterium and have their own contributions to make.
Me, I’m a Catholic newbie and I don’t consider these subscriber comments to be taking a definitive public stance of my own. But I do commend your efforts, as I’ve said. I’m sure it was not easy.
If on the other hand, all Catholic apologists were unreasonably to close their eyes to obvious problems with FS, because they think they must, then they are really telling many Bible believing Protestant inquirers and many faithful, practicing Catholics “if you have any problems with FS, YOU are the problem.” (Thank you, Eric Ybarra.)
And I remain a grateful convert, and grateful for those like you who are helping us honor that the Catholic faith is both a revealed religion and an eminently reasonable one.
You beautifully address the situation so well. I am so very grateful. It is a tough concept for me to wrap my head around and I appreciated how you laid it out so clearly.
I was about to roll my eyes and begrudgingly read yet another take on this controversial document, but the way you handled the episode was perfect and insightful! 😊
Thank you so much Amity for this. Yeah I think I too was rolling my eyes at the thought of producing another take on Feducia Supplicans. I'm happy this struck a different chord.

Thank you Thelma for this note and your perspective, and thank you for your generous support. God bless you.
